The Architect

A'Ron Burns
aka "AB".

Founder of Roll-N-Sweetz · CEO of RNS Corporation

Born and raised in North Omaha, Nebraska, AB is one of the youngest restaurant chain builders in the country, notably recognized as one of the greatest entrepreneurs of Generation Z, and quoted by industry watchers as "the next Ray Kroc."

Profiled by the Omaha World-Herald, AB opened his first brick-and-mortar Ballpark while still in high school. From a single block in North O to Ballparks rolling out across eleven states, he is the architect behind the business and the empire it is becoming.

Beyond the cold pan, AB's philanthropic work has helped secure $53 million in additional civic youth funding, reinvesting back into the same neighborhoods that raised him.

Today he serves as CEO of RNS Corporation, the parent and holding company behind Roll-N-Sweetz. Every Ballpark carries that DNA.

Chapter One

The Beginning

Roll-N-Sweetz started with one cold pan, one block in North Omaha and a teenager who would not take no for an answer. A'Ron Burns, known to everybody as AB, opened the first brick and mortar while he was still in high school, pouring premium cream on a freezing pan and rolling it by hand for anybody who walked up.

There was no seating, no fancy dining room, no investors telling him what the brand should be. There was a window, a line down the sidewalk and a neighborhood that showed up. That line is still the whole business model.

Chapter Two

Why Baseball

Omaha summers are baseball summers. Little league dust, sunflower seeds, scoreboards clicking over, the whole city watching the College World Series roll into town. That feeling of a crowd waiting on the next pitch is exactly what the cold pan does when the show starts.

So we leaned all the way in. Our stores are Ballparks. Our menu is a starting lineup. Our rewards program keeps Runs, not points. Rolly, our mascot, works the crowd like he is chasing a foul ball. Baseball is not a theme we borrowed, it is the way this town already feels in June.

Chapter Three

Why Omaha

Plenty of brands would have started somewhere flashier. AB started at home, on purpose. North Omaha raised him, fed him and gave him his first customers, and he built a company that hires from those same blocks.

Omaha teaches you to work. If your product cannot survive a Nebraska winter, a Nebraska summer and a crowd that expects value for every dollar, it is not ready for anywhere else. Passing that test here is why we can open a Ballpark anywhere.

Chapter Four

Our Mission

Serve the best rolled ice cream in the country in about four minutes, treat every customer like a hometown fan, and reinvest in the neighborhoods that made this possible.

That last part is not decoration. AB's philanthropic work has helped secure 53 million dollars in additional civic youth funding, money that goes back into the same community that lined up at the first window.

Chapter Five

The Future of Roll-N-Sweetz

Ballparks are headed to Nebraska, Iowa, Kansas, Illinois, Georgia, Mississippi, Texas, California, Florida, Arizona and Colorado. Every one of them walk-in and walk-up, every one of them built for a line that moves.

Under RNS Corporation, the parent and holding company, the plan is bigger than ice cream. It is a hometown brand from North Omaha becoming a national one without ever losing the accent it was born with.

Come be part of the story.
